Plans to establish two “industrial” cities at either end of the bridge Yemen and Djibouti at a cost of $200 bn. On completion it will be the first physical connection between Africa and the Middle East since the creation of the Suez Canal in 1869. The suspension portion of the bridge will be the longest in the world and it is anticipated that about 100,000 cars and 50,000 rail passengers will cross the bridge daily in addition to the thousands of tons of cargo in trucks and rail wagons.
The so-called “Bridge of Horns” will link the cities both named Al Noor and contain a mixture of commercial and residential premises believed to be over 2,000 units in total along with providing over one million jobs.
The goal of the Al Noor cities project is to create globally integrated cities bridging two continents that deliver major shift in not just the economies of Yemen and Djibouti, but the regional economy of the Middle East and Asian. Having develop the business plan and masterplan for the two cities and the bridge investors are now being looked for the project. |
