The castle-palace was constructed during the 15th and 16th centuries Renaissance period. Comprised of the fortress itself as well as other buildings including a chapel.
The castle-palace has a building of 2,000 m2 on a property of 6,789 m2 surrounded by 75 hectares of farm land. It is comprised of the fortress itself as well as Garcilaso spring, the Mirador gardens, chapel, cellar, basement, the bridge over the River Sotillo, warehouse, gardener's house, drying room and dam.
The building has a quadrangular floor plan and is close to the homage tower, the oldest part, which stands out above the whole because it is slightly in front of the rest of the fortress. The main gateway is in Isabeline-Gothic style with the coat of arms of the Laso de la Vega and Guzman families.
The central courtyard has double galley with Toledo columns and iron balconies dating from the 16th century. There is a Gothic style well in the centre of the courtyard.
Located 30 kilometres from Madrid in an unbeatable setting ideal for residential use, private institutions, luxury hotel activities, etc...
In 1984 the film director John Derek chose the castle-palace from among many other locations to shoot his film BOLERO staring Bo Derek and George Kennedy.
