Tiger Mile Lodge on the Zambezi River

Tiger Mile Lodge is a fishing lodge built on a hill overlooking the Zambezi River. This region of the river is known to fishermen as the ‘tiger mile’ because of its excellent tiger fishing in that stretch of the river.
It is situated in a privately owned Game Ranch that is fully fenced and has 5km of river frontage on the Zambezi River.
The property is 3100 + hectares in size with approximately 30 kms of game fencing (2.5 meter tall with 16 strands of 2.24 mm high tensile fencing.
Game consists of Impala, Kudu, Bush Buck, Common Duiker, Red Duiker, baboon, vervet monkeys and all other common small animals that go with an area this large. Leopard are also in the area. There is extensive bird life and hippos and crocodiles in the river.
At present it caters for eight people sharing – two to a chalet (2) and two to each bedroom (2) in the lodge. There is a camping area and ablution block. The lodge is built with brick and stone and has a thatched roof with an area of 174 square meters downstairs. The floors are stone.
The upstairs has an area of 105 square meters with wooden flooring (Kiat). Two guest bedrooms are upstairs, each with their own bathroom as well as a TV lounge. One downstairs bedroom has its own bathroom plus dressing room (Owner’s/Manager’s). Foyer with office and toilet.

Covered pool deck area 22.5 m2 overlooking the rive. Swimming pool with solar pump. Outside kitchen. Solar room and a complete 12V solar system that powers everything. Lapa area under thatch with bar and Brai and the deck overlooks the Zambezi River westwards.
Two fully furnished chalets each with two beds, bathroom and toilet. Work shop, store room and vehicle pit. 5KVA diesel generator. Carport under shade for three vehicles.
General Aviation Airstrip in the process of being constructed.Aircraft Hangar. Registered Helicopter Pad. Registered Ultra Lite Air Strip. Boat Shed. Two boats 1 x 16’ with trailer and 50 HP Mercury engine. 1 x 12’ with trailer and 20 HP Mercury engine plus 1 x 5 HP Yamaha engine. 2 x Land Cruisers.
Vegetable garden under shade. Lister Diesel Motor and Mono Pump that pumps water from the Zambezi to the Lodge
Two staff cottages under thatch and staff compound.
This property has a 99 year lease from the Zambian government from 1998 with an automatic renewal of another 99 Year Lease.
The lodge is situated approximately 90 kms south/east of Livingstone and 100 kms west of Maamba. Access to Tiger Mile Lodge can be reached by helicopter from Livingstone – approx 35 minutes flying. By road – the property is 150 kms from the Livingstone/Lusaka Road. Unfortunately this road is not in the best of condition and a 4x4 is recommended.
By River – a boat ride up the Zambezi starting from Sinazongwe which is situated on the shores of Lake Kariba. By Air – present owners use a Chinook 2 Seater Aircraft of Canadian design which makes a 50 minute flight to Livingstone. This Aircraft could be sold with the property if required.
