Fantastic Criptoporticus Romanum and Medieval Palace. The Cryptoporticus was built by the Romans in the first century B.C and is classified as a historically listed building.
The Medieval Palace has seven rooms with ceilings made of cedar wood with hand painted floral design, old original brick clay tiled, and ancient polygonal walls. The property has been renovated maintaining care and respect for the heritage building.
The building has three independent entrances, all communicating with each other. The property is partly furnished with period furniture and is in an 80 m2 garden.
Located in Segni, Rome near the Cathedral, Municipal Museum, shops and parking. The property is now run as a restaurant and would be perfect as a boutique hotel.
Cryptoporticus is a construction of buildings that spread Roman briefly around the year 1 B.C, with a combination of different techniques such as reticulated. Large and lavish underground structure, almost every house had one noble Roman (Pompeii, Vicenza, Villa of Nerone in Rome) used as a warehouse and underground passage, the public Cryptoporticus (Aosta, Urbs Salvia, Segni) were constructed in the vicinity of a square, a monument or a temple used most often in the covered market, or simply covered walkway.
The signs of Cryptoporticus probably served as a covered market, given the country by two magistrates belonging to the family of Volumni. The cryptoporticus known are property of the state, to have one privately is unique.
